The Team

The Founder and Director of ‘Once Upon the Mat’. The company was solely established in 2018 and become Finalist for Kent Business Award 2019, National WhatsOn4Kids Award 2020 & Kent Women in Business Award 2021.

Before becoming a mother to my little boy, Rafi, I completed a Religious Studies & Theology BA (Hons) and MA (Res) Theology and have always been extremely passionate about education. I have been practising yoga for 25 years, since I was twelve years old. Back then there wasn’t such a class for “kids yoga” so I attended an adult class with my friend (much to the teacher’s concern!).

After the birth of my child, I suffered with birth trauma and PND. My yoga mat, alongside my little boy, became my sanctuary and inspired me to create ‘Once Upon the Mat’. The experience of motherhood propelled me to support others with the mental health & wellbeing.
